Admissions to the graduate programs in physics

HRI conducts a regular Ph.D. as well an integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. program in physics. The regular Ph.D. program is open to students with a M.Sc. degree in physics, while the integrated program is open to candidates with a bachelors degree in science or engineering. Candidates for these programs will be selected through the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), followed by a written test and an interview at HRI. Students who expect to complete their final examination by August are eligible for these programs.

Cut-off ranks to appear for the written test and interview
Students with ranks within 53 (and percentile 96.26 or above) in JEST 2009 are eligible to attend the written test and interview for admission to the Ph.D./Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programs in physics at HRI. The call letter for the test and interview will soon be sent to the eligible candidates by e-mail. We will also be sending a copy of the letter by post.
The interviews will be held in two rounds, first during May 1-3, and again during May 21-23. Eligible candidates can choose to attend either round of interview.
