ATLAS Top Physics at University of Bonn Germany

The University of Bonn has an attractive position for a

doctoral student (top physics)

The ATLAS detector at the CERN LHC is expected to begin taking data by the end of the year, with the possibility of fundamental discoveries soon afterwards. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the preparation for data-taking and ATLAS data analysis in the field of top physics and related tools. The ATLAS groups in Bonn include three faculty members, two junior research groups and twelve senior staff members and postdocs.

Applicants should hold a Master in high-energy physics or a related field and should have strong interest in data analysis. The position is located at Bonn, with the possibility of frequent travels to CERN and/or a stay of several months. The salary is based on the German federal public service scale (TV-L). The position is available immediately for an appointment of three years or more.
