RESEARCH POSITIONS
The Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), a premier grant-in-aid scientific
institute of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and
devoted to research and development activities in the areas of basic &
applied plasma physics, plans to establish a Centre for Nonlinear Sciences.
The primary aim of the Centre will be to engage in theoretical and
experimental research in nonlinear phenomena associated with systems that
are closely related to plasmas and other allied systems. Typical research
areas will include nonlinear laser plasma interactions, turbulence
phenomena, strongly coupled systems, fluid dynamics, granular matter,
coupled lasers, nonlinear electronic circuits, colloids and theoretical studies
on various nonlinear dynamical systems. The Centre will also organize a
number of training activities including Schools and Workshops.
The Institute is looking for potential faculty and young researchers for the
Centre in these areas of research. The Centre will have both permanent
positions and a large number of long term as well as short term visiting
positions. Applications are invited from interested scientists including fresh
Ph.Ds for visiting/permanent positions. Candidates may send their CVs with
complete publication lists and names of two references by email to
cnls@ipr.res.in . The application should also include a statement of interest
and a research plan. Experimentalists may in addition submit a brief
proposal for setting up an appropriate facility for their work.
